Vendor Terms and Conditions Glossary

This list of terms used in our Vendor Terms, as well is in the Recast Terms & Conditions and various policies. It is intended as a useful guide only. The terms will have the relevant document, as applicable.

Cast CreditsIn section 2.1 of the Vendor Terms, "About Recast"The reward credits used on the Platform that can be earned or purchased and are redeemed in return for watching Videos on the Fan Site or to obtain Channel Passes.
BrandIn section 2.5 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”The public-facing view of Vendors, which may include a collection of Videos they have or published on their Vendor Account or shared from other Vendor’s to be viewed and watched by Recast Users.
Vendor AdminIn section 4.4(b) of the Vendor Terms, “How we refer to Users, and which terms apply”An individual User who is granted admin access by a Vendor Owner on behalf of a Vendor to manage a Brand and publish Videos on the Vendor’s behalf.
Brand DetailsIn section 8.6(e) of the Vendor Terms, “Registering a Publisher Account”The name, logo and cover image of a Vendor’s Brand.
Access PassIn section 5.4 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”A pass that will allow the Fan to watch all of the Videos made available by the Vendor for a specified period. Referred to in parts of the UI as a Channel Pass
Access Pass PeriodIn section 14.3 of the Vendor Terms, “Channel Passes”The 1, 3, 7, 21 or 28-day period for which the Access/Channel Pass is operational for the purchasing Recast User, after which point it will expire.
CompetitorIn section 30.1 of the Vendor Terms, "Limits on using similar platforms"Any platform, technology, or business other than Recast which makes audio-visual material available to the public on a pay-per-view basis, or in return for micropayments, in each case where facilitated by a digital in-app or in-platform currency.
ContentIn section 5.1 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”All videos, audio content, live stream video and audio content, images, graphics, pictures, text, messages, emojis, reactions, sounds, information, applications, code, data, materials or any other content in whatever format and whether known now or invented in the future.
Cooling-Off PeriodIn the Refund Policy, “Consumer rights to refunds for purchased Cast Credits”This is the 14-day period after a consumer purchases Cast Credits on the Platform, during which they are entitled to cancel the purchase and claim a refund for any unused Cast Credits.
EarningsIn the “Published Videos” section of the Publisher Earnings PolicyThe money which a Vendor can earn from purchases of their videos or videos they may have shared from other vendors in accordance with the Vendor Earnings Policy.
Earnings StatementIn section 21.2 of the Vendor Terms, “Standard Invoicing Process”The statement issued to Publishers after they make a Payment Request, showing all Earnings calculated up to the end of the previous month which are eligible to be cashed-out from a Vendor's Earnings Total.
Earnings TotalIn section 11.2 of the Vendor Terms, “Earnings”The current amount of Earnings which a Vendor has earnt and which have accrued to their Vendor Wallet but have not yet been cashed out.
Recast User (sometimes referred to as Fans)In section 4.1 of the Vendor Terms, “How we refer to Users, and which terms apply”A User with a Recast Account who can therefore view Videos in full, and earn, purchase and redeem Cast Credits.
Recast User AccountIn section 4.1 of the Vendor Terms, “How we refer to Users, and which terms apply”A Recast account set up by a User to give them access to use a recast wallet to purchase items using Cast Credits.
User ContentIn section 5.2 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”Any Content submitted by a Recast User which is published on the Recast Platform by the user using any of the services we make available to them via the Recast Platform (including the Live Chat functionality). Recast User Content includes any aspects of a User’s Platform ID which may be displayed on the Recast platform and seen by other Users when viewing certain live stream Videos).
Fan DetailsIn the "Other Key Terminology" section of the Recast Terms & ConditionsThe information a Recast User (Fan) submits to the Platform when signing-up for a Recast User (Fan) Account (including their Platform ID), when updating their Account details, or when responding to optional requests from us to provide further personal information.
The Recast PlatformIn section 2.7 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”Includes The Recast iFrame Widget (including versions of it available via a Vendor Environment), Recast for Business, Recast Account Screens and any other Recast websites, software applications and technologies owned by Recast and used to deliver Recast services to Vendors and Recast Users
FeeIn the “Published Videos” section of the Publisher Earnings PolicyRecast’s Fee deducted on each Purchase of a Publisher’s Video, as charged in accordance with the Schedule of Tariffs (which may be varied from time to time).
Live ChatIn section 5.6 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”The ‘live chat’ functionality made available to Fans during certain live streamed Videos.
Vendor OwnerIn section 4.4(a) of the Vendor Terms, “How we refer to Users, and which terms apply”A named User who is primarily responsible for a Vendor Account. This individual accepts the Vendor Terms for and on behalf of the Vendor during the Vendor Onboarding Process.
Payment RequestIn section 21.1 of the Vendor Terms, "Cashing out & self-billing"A request by a Vendor for payment of their Earnings on the Platform.
PriceIn section 5.9 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”The number of Cast Credits a recast User needs to redeem to View any Video or obtain an Access/Channel Pass (as applicable).
Protected WorkIn section 26 of the Vendor Terms, “Notification of infringing Content”Any Content made available on the Platform which a User believes constitutes infringement of another party’s intellectual property rights
Vendor AccountIn section 2.5 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”An account set up by a Vendor to give them access to Recast for Business.
Vendor Account DetailsIn section 8.6(a) of the Vendor Terms, “Registering a Publisher Account”The Vendor's full name and address (where the Vendor is an individual) or the registered name and address of the Vendor, its country of registration, and its registered number (where the Publisher is an entity).
Vendor ContentIn section 5.3 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”Any Content which a Vendor decides to upload, stream, publish or otherwise make available on the Recast Platform for other Users to view.
Vendor EnvironmentIn section 2.3 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”A website, app or other digital platform onto which the Recast iFrame Widget is embedded.
Vendor Onboarding ProcessIn section 8.4 of the Vendor Terms, “Registering a Publisher Account”The process by which Recast onboards new Vendors to the Platform, as further described in the Vendor Terms.
VendorsIn section 2.1 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”Person or entities who are granted Vendor status by Recast and, as such, have the right to have a Brand on the Platform on to which they can upload Videos and/or earn money from sharing other vendors’ videos
PublisherIn section 2.1 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”A subset of a Vendor account who has permission to upload their own Videos to the platform and earn money from the sale of them
AffiliateIn section 2.1 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”A subset of a Vendor account who has permission to share other Vendors Videos either via Share and Earn or Recast iFrame Widget and earn money from the sale that are driven by the share
Vendor TermsIn section 1 of the Vendor Terms, “Welcome”Recast’s Terms and Conditions for Vendors, as updated from time to time.
Recast iFrame WidgetIn section 2.2 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key Terminology”The functionality of Recast for Business which may be made available to some vendors which will offer those Vendors the ability to embed an iFrame widget within their Vendor’s Environment so that their Videos or videos of other Vendors can be viewed from there via a Recast owned window which will appear on the Vendor’s Environment.
Recast T&CsIn section 4.5 of the Publisher Terms, "How we refer to Users, and which terms apply"The Recast Terms & Conditions (which apply to all Users of the Platform) as updated from time to time.
Recast for BusinessIn section 2.4 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”The website from which Vendors can upload and publish Vendor Content, create recast iFrame widgets and manage their Brand and Publisher Account.
RefundIn section 23.2 of the Vendor Terms, “Refunds”The amount of Cast Credits returned or money refunded or paid to a Recast User in respect of an Unsatisfactory Video.
ReplayIn section 5.10 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”A repeated/subsequent View of a Video by a Fan who has already redeemed Cast Credits to View it.
Share & EarnIn section 12.9 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”The functionality which allows a User to receive a share of the Price of a Video when another Fan Views a Video as a result of them sharing a link to the Video (or for Vendors only, as a result of them sharing the Video on a Recast iFrame Widget).
Tag & SplitIn section 12.9(d) of the Vendor Terms, "Setting “Rules” for your Videos”The functionality which allows Vendors to split the amounts they earn when Recast Users redeem Cast Credits to watch their Videos with other Publishers who have contributed to their Videos on the Platform.
Third Party PropertiesIn section 32 of the Vendor Terms, "Third party links"The websites, applications and/or other digital properties of third parties.
Unsatisfactory VideoIn the Refund Policy, “Return of Cast Credits for Unsatisfactory Videos”A Video which did not meet Recast User’s reasonable expectations. For example, if the length/content of the Video did not meet the description or the quality of a live stream was not of reasonably satisfactory quality.
UserIn section 4.1 of the Vendor Terms, “How we refer to Users, and which terms apply”Any person who accesses or uses the Platform.
VideosIn section 2.2 of the Vendor Terms, “About Recast”On demand videos, audio content and live streams uploaded by Publishers and made available to Users to watch or listen to on the Recast Platform.
ViewIn section 5.8 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”The action of a User watching a Video (or in the case of audio content, listening) beyond its preview.
WalletIn section 5.11 of the Vendor Terms, “Other Key terminology”A virtual Recast wallet. For Recast Users, this is shown in their Account and indicates the Cast Credits currently available to them. For Vendors, this is shown in their Vendor Account on Recast for Business and indicates the Vendor’s current Earnings Total.
